And I cry “JESUS!” as I suffocate beneath the worry of tomorrow. I cry “JESUS!” as the wave of apathy overcomes my soul. I cry “JESUS!” as the crushing weight of self doubt seems to crash upon me. I sob “LORD!” as fear drags me to the depths. I wail “MESSIAH!” as silence seems to eat my whole being alive.

Then in the storm, it becomes suddenly still, and out upon the waters He comes, and whispers “I am here, beloved.” and suddenly tears are wiped away, peace is restored, and a stillness takes hold of the ship that once held a weak and frightened child.

Oh hope, oh love, oh grace, oh joy, oh morning redemption, oh eternal savior; here in lies the One who hears my cries, and holds my soul, who comforts and renews. He is Jesus, and He is making all things new.
